New Art Gallery Cosecha in Aruba

I was so excited and thrilled when I had received a SEYO (Seal), from and established by the Aruban Government through the Dept. of Culture Aruba. With this Seal an opportunity was provided to me to show my art form and gain recognition as a Visual Artist by the Aruban Government in their newly opened Art Gallery Cosecha. This opportunity is unmatched!

I am taking part with 10 small sized colorful paintings in acrylic mixmedia. These artworks are mostly abstracted contemporary landscape and seascape rendition of some inspiring sights.

The Art Gallery Cosecha is situated in a recently renovated, stunning monument, at the Zoutmanstraat # 1, Oranjestad. The original walls of the monument, protected with glass walls, can be seen in some parts in the Gallery. The Aruban Government has renovated this building to showcase locally created Arts and Crafts; which I think is a great step.

In above picture, me with the popular Host of TV Program ‘ Nos Mainta’, Tica Basha Bou. This picture was taken right after my interview with her, along with all participating fellow artists and artisans. This Live TV interview, went – I was not prepaired – in the Papiamento( the local language).  I became pretty nervous during this interview, as this was the first time for me to be interviewed in Papiamento and it was no joke. The nerves got the better of me while doing this interview in Papiamento, but I promise to work on this the next time, fingers crossed.
